| Merdeka Square or Dataran Merdeka is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This place holds a lot of significance because it was here when the Union Flag was lowered and the Malaysian flag hoisted for the first time at midnight on August 31st,1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has been the usual venue for the annual Merdeka Parade. |
